Small Business Ownership Workshop
Summer 2010 Edition
WICSA is poised to fight poverty among women by introducing the economic self sufficiency
workshop. This Small Business Ownership workshop, titled “Biz –Smart 101” , is for women
aspiring to own or maintain a small business to gain self sufficiency.
The 2010 summer workshop is specially designed for survivors of domestic violence, so that they
can avert the perils of abusive relationships due to financial hardships.
As we know abusive relationships can take a toll on physical and psychological make up of an
individual. This toll can leave indelible emotional and sometimes literal scars that destroy one's
self esteem. WICSA wants to help women whose self worth have been diminished due to abusive
relationships.
WICSA believes that every individual has potentials to succeed irrespective of what has happened
in the past. Some people are born to be successful no matter what they do, some have success
thrown at them and others have to work very hard at getting success.
We are poised to be the catalyst for success. WICSA recently completed an a series of
workshops on small business ownership with present and past residents of Sheltering Wings,
domestic violence Shelter based in Indiana, WICSA worked with a crop of seasoned professionals
volunteering their time and talents to make the self sufficiency dreams of these women
participants come true.
